Menu, prices and taxes
Add menu and bar items, set prices and taxes per section, change many items at once and tag dishes for guests.
Add and manage menu items
- Open Menu items and tap Add menu item. Fill the fields marked *, such as name, price, menu category and item type. Rarely used fields sit under More options.
- The price you enter is the base price. Each section (dine-in, takeaway, delivery) can get its own price later in Pricing. Need a new category? Tap New next to Menu category.
- Add a description and photo, and switch on Show photo in the app so guests see it. Write with AI drafts a description from the item's name and category: read it before you save.
To take a dish off the menu without losing its sales history, switch Active off. It moves to Archived, where you can switch it back on.
For big changes, use Excel download and import under More actions, or Edit in the table to click any value and change it.
Bar items
Liquor and other bar items have their own list. When you add a bar item, pick the Stock item used (the bottle) and the Quantity used per sale, so each peg or bottle sold comes off your stock.
Prices per section
Pricing sets each section's price, discount, taxes and availability for every item in one place.
- Type a price in a section's box and press Enter to jump to the next item. It saves straight away, with Undo.
- POS means staff can order the item in that section; App means guests see it in the ordering app. Switch them off when an item is sold out.
- Price not set lists items with no price yet in a section, and Unavailable somewhere lists items switched off anywhere, so nothing stays sold out by mistake.
- Switch to Discount to give an item ₹ or % off in a section, or to Tax to choose which taxes apply to it there.
Change many prices at once
- Tick the items to change, or the top box for every item shown. Search or pick a category first to narrow the list.
- Tap Bulk update…. You see one row per section and a preview of the new prices.
- Price + adds ₹ or % to each item's base price: a ₹200 item with Price + 10% becomes ₹220. Enter 0 to use the base price, or leave it empty to keep the current price.
- Pick taxes for these items, or No tax (remove all) for tax-free items. Leave it on Keep to change nothing.
- Fill the top row and tap Copy to ticked sections to fill every row. Check the preview, then tap Update.
Taxes and charges
Set up GST and other taxes once in Settings → Tax, and service, packing and delivery charges in Other charges. Then choose which taxes apply to each item and section in Pricing, or in bulk. Not sure which rate applies to you? Our GST bill calculator explains the common cases.
Diet and allergen tags
Tags such as Veg, Jain, Nuts or Spicy show in the diner app, and guests filter the menu by them once Diet and allergen tags is on in Diner app settings. Open Diet tags, tap an item and the tags that apply, then Save. Suggest with AI proposes tags for the items shown: check every suggestion, because allergens must be right.
Let Copilot do it
Ask Copilot in plain words, for example "Add Mango Lassi at ₹120 in Beverages" or "Raise all biryani prices by 5%". It shows every change as before → after, and nothing changes until you tap Apply. See The AI assistant.
