Up and running in five minutes.

Android

  1. Open this page on the phone and tap Download APK.
  2. Open the downloaded file. If Android asks, allow your browser to install unknown apps.
  3. Open QRkey Merchant and sign in with your QRkey account.
  4. The welcome guide asks for notifications, nearby devices (Bluetooth printers), local network (Wi-Fi printers) and, for the order bubble, display over other apps. If Android says the app was denied access, open App info → ⋮ → Allow restricted settings once, then allow it again. Then add your printer in Printers.

Windows

  1. Run QRkey-desktop-…-setup.exe. If Windows says it protected your PC, click More info → Run anyway.
  2. The installer closes and removes the old QRkey app if it's on this computer. The two can't run together.
  3. QRkey opens and asks you to sign in. Give this computer a name, like “Billing counter 1”. Printers linked to this computer keep working.

macOS

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag QRkey into Applications.
  2. Open QRkey from Applications. If macOS says it can't check the app, click Done, then go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to QRkey.
  3. Sign in, and allow notifications when asked.

Printers

Connect your thermal printer.

Wi-Fi or LAN printer

  1. In the app, open Settings → Scan network to find the printer's IP address.
  2. Tap Test print.
  3. In QRkey, go to Settings → Printers, choose Connection Network and enter that IP, port 9100.

USB printer on a computer

  1. Install the printer in Windows (or System Settings on a Mac) with the maker's driver.
  2. In QRkey, go to Settings → Printers, choose Connection Direct, pick the printer and this computer.
  3. Use Test print in the app's Settings to check it.

Bluetooth printer on Android

  1. Pair the printer in the phone's Bluetooth settings.
  2. In QRkey, go to Settings → Printers, choose Connection Direct and pick the printer by name.
  3. Open the app's settings and tap Test print.

Do I need an app, or is the browser enough?

Billing, menu and reports work in any modern browser. Install the app on the device that prints bills and KOTs, or the phone that should ring for new online orders.

Which printers work?

Standard 58 mm and 80 mm thermal (ESC/POS) printers from brands like Epson, TVS, Xprinter, Rongta and Everycom, over Wi-Fi/LAN, USB or Bluetooth (Android).

Should I install it on every device?

Install it where you print or want order alerts. For each outlet, set the printers to the device they are connected to, so every ticket prints once.

Will my existing printer setup keep working?

Yes. On a computer that used the old QRkey app, the new one keeps the same computer name and printers. Uninstall the old app first.

Is my data safe?

The apps open your QRkey POS over a secure connection and only talk to QRkey. Your orders and customer list are never shared with other restaurants.
