Tips for QR codes that get scanned
- Print at least 3 cm wide. Bigger is better on tables where guests sit back from the card.
- Keep strong contrast. A dark code on white works everywhere. Avoid light colours and busy backgrounds.
- Use a link that won't change. If your menu moves, a printed code can't be updated. Point it at a page you control.
- Laminate table cards. Water rings and scratches are the main reason codes stop scanning.
- Say what happens. "Scan to see the menu and order" gets more scans than a code on its own.
QR ordering with QRkey
With QRkey, each table's QR code opens your menu with the table already chosen. Guests order and can pay from their phone, the KOT prints in the kitchen and the order appears on your POS. You print the table codes from inside QRkey. See Online orders and QR ordering.
Questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The link is written into the code itself, with no redirect through us, so it works for as long as the link does.
Is it free for commercial use?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. Use the codes on menus, table cards, parcels and posters.
Do you see my link?
No. The code is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to us.
